Precautions
1) If firmware upgrading fails, the camera may not
operate correctly in some cases. Carefully read the
notes provided here.
Please note that this procedure is not covered
under any Fujifilm warranty.
2) The media card must be formatted before
beginning this process. Since formatting the card
will erase all data and images, please be sure to
download all images to your computer before
formatting.
3) Always use the AC adapter when upgrading the
firmware. Never turn the camera off or attempt to
use any of the camera controls while the firmware
is being overwritten.
4) Be sure to put the upgrade file on the top-level
directory of the media card. If it is placed in a
sub-folder, the camera will not find it and
upgrading will fail.
5) Firmware upgrading takes approximately 2
minutes.
6) Once the firmware has been upgraded, the
previous version cannot be restored.
7) If you have downloaded a previous firmware
upgrade for the FinePix S3 Pro, when this file is
downloaded it will overwrite the older
software.
8) If the firmware update completes successfully,
but the camera does not operate correctly, reset
the camera by holding down the "BKT" and "+/-"
buttons for 2 seconds until the top panel display
flashes.
